The ER was sloooooooow as always... it took over an hour just to get an x-ray. Then another hour before they looked at it and told us what was going on. They said there wasn't a break and that it was probably nursemaids elbow (a dislocation that happens often in kids). The PA came in and "adjusted it" or "popped it back in to place" and said he should be fine in a few minutes. Another hour passed and there was very little improvement. (This should have been my first clue that they were wrong) They discharged us with instructions to follow up with a bone doctor. (2nd clue!!!)When we got home he seemed to be doing a little better and the next day I thought I saw even more improvement. That evening is when I changed my mind. He was still in a good deal of pain and I was feeling SoOoOo bad for him. We called the bone doctor and got an appointment for the next day. They wanted to see him at the office in Deer Valley (for those of you in Vegas, it would be like having to travel to Logandale to see the doc!!! SOOOO Far away!) because that's where the Pediatric bone dr. is.
Pretty happy kid for having a hurting arm... This is while we were waiting in the bone dr's office.
To make an already long story a little shorter...They found a break in his elbow. Apparently pediatric elbows are a specialty and the ER had NO CLUE what they were looking at so they GUESSED! UGH!!!!!!!!
We got the cast put on and he was a new person.
Today we are going to get it changed cause it STINKS sooooooo bad! Luckily there is an office close by that can take care of that.

OH NO! Poor little guy! I hope that he heals up soon!
poor aiden...he looks much happier with his cast on though!
Oh man, that is so sad. But he still looks so cute smiling in all the pics.
Poor boy! That's too bad. I bet he likes the bright green cast though:)
I remember Grandma mentioning that Aiden had fallen off the swing, but I had no idea he'd broken his elbow. Poor little guy. Looks like he's being a good sport.
My nephew had the EXACT same injury! It is so sad to see our little ones hurt!
Poor guy. We have had a few nurse maids’ elbows luckily no broken bones, knock on wood. I am happy to know he is feeling better; he is so much fun in nursery.
Poor Kid!!! I just hate it when little kids get hurt. And I hate ER doctors. They are morons!!! WE had to take Chloe when she was about 7 months old and to this day she freaks the moment she sees a white coat. Needless to say it was not a good experience!
P.S. I hope he heals up fast and is feeling better soon. =)
What a bummer! I am so sorry and I can only imagine what an ordeal that was. I've been dreading the day I have to go to the ER for a broken bone- I suppose it is only inevitable with boys! Hope all goes well.
