We're in Vegas
My wonderful mom had surgery last week. She is doing great and nothing to worry about but Aiden and I came to Vegas for the week so that we could help her (my job) and cheer her up(Aiden's job)... you know, "Laughter is the best medicine." And he is good for a lot of laughs.
He is 18 months today. I'm amazed at how fast it goes and, at the same time, how it seems that he has been mine forever. I suppose both are true in the eternal perspective. He is growing and learning so fast. Yesterday at the Phoenix airport we were waiting in the security checkpoint line and I was showing Aiden a pic of my dad. All the sudden he said "ga-pa." First time. He has said it nonstop since we got here. My dad has been grinning from ear to ear for 24 hours! Jeremy will be here on Friday and we will get to see both our dad's on Father's Day before heading home. We love & miss them so much.

Our Baja
Another one of our hobbies is going off-roading in our VW Baja. Jeremy loves to work on it and Aiden loves to use Jeremy's screw drivers and hit the side of it. No harm done until he thinks its okay to beat our nice vehicles. AAHHH! Jeremy and his dad worked on this every once in a while for almost a year before it was ready for its "maiden" voyage. Its actually the car Jeremy learned to drive in but it had been gathering cobwebs for about 10 years. We are so happy to have it up and running. Its a great passtime for the whole family.
This July the Benson family (Mom & Dad, Logan & Jennie, Candy & Todd & kids and Jeremy, Me & Aiden) is going on a family vacation to the middle of nowhere. Each little family has their own baja. Mom & Dad have a VW Thing. We are going on a long weekend of exploring near Flagstaff, AZ. We are all counting the days! Can't wait! We'll take pics of all of us and post them next month.

Discom-blog-ulated
Soooooo..... being new to the blogging world, I guess I didn't get the whole "chronological order" thing the first time. These are some of the more recent photos & happenings and hopefully as I continue with my page it will become more orderly. ;)
Flying Airplanes
My dad and brothers got Jeremy interested in RC airplanes about the time Aiden was born. Since then (18 months ago) Jeremy has bought, built or otherwise acquired 5 airplanes.
He even got his brother, Logan, into it. They have a great time flying and Aiden loves to watch. Airplane was his first sign.

At Great Grandma & Grandpa's Cabin June 2007
We spent the weekend in Forest Lakes with Jeremy's grandparents. We had a great time with them. They took us on rides in thier Kawasaki Mule all over the area. We took an RC airplane and found a field where we could fly.
Jeremy even shook the dust of the old hammock and relaxed for a while with Aiden. Actually it was only relaxing for Jeremy once Aiden came inside for his nap.

Aiden & Canon
Pics taken at Bridgit & Craig's house this April. Canon is Aiden's 2nd cousin. (Jeremy's cousin's son). Canon is about 9 months older than Aiden and they are getting old enough to enjoy playing together when we have family gatherings. Its fun that the age gap isn't quite as obvious anymore.
Big Bump
Aiden was flying around the family room playing in the little tent (behind him in this pic) when he ran into the coffee table. He does this type of thing all the time. Jeremy and I weren't worried and just told Aiden to brush it off. He cried for a minute or less. Then we looked over and could literally see this bump growing! We felt so bad. He must have hit the coffee table right where it comes to a point. Poor guy. It isn't much more than a fading bruise now but this pic was taken right after the fact.
Aunt Candy and Kendell
My First Blog!
Hey everyone,
I love checking out everyone elses websites so here goes mine.
Jeremy, Aiden & I moved to Arizona in November 2006. We love Mesa and we love living rent free while we house sit for Jeremy's grandparents who are serving a mission at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Hawaii. We miss our families in Vegas and our wonderful friends. We wish we could spend more time with all of them.
Jeremy is working as an assistant superintendent building 3 story apartments. It is very similar to what he was doing in Vegas but he has more responsibility and enjoys his co-workers. Amazing how little things like that make such a HUGE difference in being able to enjoy going to work.
I get to stay home with my little monkey! Aiden is almost 18 months now and gets to go to nursery for the first time on Father's Day. It's so amazing to watch him grow and learn and become his own little person more each day. I have my days where Jeremy gets home not a moment to soon, but he is a great kid and I love being able to be with him all the time.
