Mother's Day & Zack's Blessing

Happy Mothers Day to all of you wonderful mothers! I got a special mothers day gift today because we got to have Zack's baby blessing. Both of our families were in town for the blessing. I was glad to be able to spend a little time visiting with my mom and have her close on this special day.
Thanks to Josh & Jen and my Dad who bought a beautiful bouquet of flowers for me. Thanks to Jake for the orchid corsage. And thanks to my hubby and boys for the cute card and for PS I Love You! (Can I just say that the movie industry played their cards right in releasing that movie the Tuesday before Mothers Day?!?!?!?)
Jeremy did a great job blessing Zack. Zack felt like he should talk during half of the blessing too. At least he wasn't screaming. Thanks to everyone who came to support us. We love you all.

Aiden's Broken Elbow

Its been about 10 days since it happened. I was at a bridal shower for Jeremy's cousin's fiancee when I got a call from Jeremy saying that Aiden fell off the porch swing and had been crying for over an hour. So I headed for home knowing that we could very easily have a super long night ahead of us. When I got back to the house, Aiden was still crying but kept telling us he wanted to go to bed. We decided that maybe some of the crying was his pure exhaustion since it was way past his bedtime. So we put him to bed in hopes that he would feel better in the morning. NOT the case. He woke up in just as much pain as he was the night before. So off we went to the ER.
The ER was sloooooooow as always... it took over an hour just to get an x-ray. Then another hour before they looked at it and told us what was going on. They said there wasn't a break and that it was probably nursemaids elbow (a dislocation that happens often in kids). The PA came in and "adjusted it" or "popped it back in to place" and said he should be fine in a few minutes. Another hour passed and there was very little improvement. (This should have been my first clue that they were wrong) They discharged us with instructions to follow up with a bone doctor. (2nd clue!!!)
When we got home he seemed to be doing a little better and the next day I thought I saw even more improvement. That evening is when I changed my mind. He was still in a good deal of pain and I was feeling SoOoOo bad for him. We called the bone doctor and got an appointment for the next day. They wanted to see him at the office in Deer Valley (for those of you in Vegas, it would be like having to travel to Logandale to see the doc!!! SOOOO Far away!) because that's where the Pediatric bone dr. is.
Pretty happy kid for having a hurting arm... This is while we were waiting in the bone dr's office. To make an already long story a little shorter...
They found a break in his elbow. Apparently pediatric elbows are a specialty and the ER had NO CLUE what they were looking at so they GUESSED! UGH!!!!!!!!
We got the cast put on and he was a new person. Today we are going to get it changed cause it STINKS sooooooo bad! Luckily there is an office close by that can take care of that.

Note To Self

Hot laundry fresh from the drier is GREAT! Unless it has newborn clothes with metal snaps on them! OUCH!

Our Date

Nicole asked about my DATE with Aiden, and I thought it was worth a quick post. On Wednesday I promised Aiden I would take him on a date since he was jealous of Jeremy and I going on a date last week. We were both excited for our "night out on the town." Really, all it consisted of was me taking Aiden to go get ice cream at Water & Ice. And the whole time we were eating our ice cream he kept telling me "Mama, I wanna go on a date with you!" He didn't get that that WAS the date. But when we got home, he proudly told Jeremy "I went on a date!" It wasn't anything spactacular, but it was well worth my time because we both very much enjoyed it.

Happy Anniversary Babe!

This post is a week overdue. Jeremy and I had our 4th anniversary on April 24th. We celebrated it, a little at a time, all weekend. Family time on Thursday, dinner on Friday and a movie on Saturday. Dinner and a movie at the same time would have wasted me, and Zack would have been difficult too, so we split it up. :P
My fabulous hubby just got home from work, so rather than spend any more time telling you how great he is... I'm gonna go hang out with him. Just know that he is AWESOME and I LOVE HIM!!!

Overdue Post

I feel like I have a million things to talk about and then again, nothing at all.
My mom has taught Aiden to say "Happy Day" and "Life is Good." Simple but such a great perspective to have. My friend Lindsay recently wrote a post talking about how life IS good. Even when it is hard. I certainly don't have the heartache she does, but sometimes we all forget how good our lives actually are amidst our trials. My trials are simple. We have a new baby. Enough said. We are looking for and trying to buy a house. Stressful. There are others, but those are the big ones! (I know, rough life, huh?) But life is good and we are blessed.
I feel blessed to have faith. That statement has often caught my attention. I know that when I try to have even a little bit of faith, the Lord often gives me more.
I haven't really posted much about Zack. He is doing great. The breastfeeding is getting easier as the weeks go by. He is gaining weight VERY well (10 lbs. 9 oz. yesterday) and he is sleeping better at night. Last night we got 7 hours at one stretch. Pretty good for a 5 week old! I guess now I know why I haven't posted anything... how much else is there to say about a 5 week old???
Aiden is very possessive of him and gets mad at anyone else who "ooo's and ah's" over the new baby. He says "No, that's my baby Zack!" in his brattiest 2 year old tone. He is testing his limits constantly. Always looking over his shoulder to see if I am watching and if I will allow him to do whatever mischevious thing he has in mind. Did I really sign up for this??? I guess so. He and I are going on our first "date" tonight. He has been so cute about it. He keeps saying "Mama, we going on a date!" Jeremy and I went out last week and he wanted to go so bad that I promised him he could go on a date with me later. I am just as excited to spend some one on one time with him.
We are blessing Zack in church on Sunday the 11th of May. That is Mother's Day and I'm excited to do it that day. Sort of a cool Mother's Day gift if you ask me? Normally we'd have done it on the 4th (Fast Sunday) but there is a wedding on the 9th so the family will only have to travel once.
So, those are my thoughts for today. Like I said... Lots, but nothing at all.

My OTHER Sister

Jeremy got Diamondbacks (baseball) tickets from one of his sub-contractors at work. We got to enjoy the game with some of our best friends, Jim and Monica. We are so glad they could come with us. We had Zack with us (and he was great) and the rest of the kids were with sitters. I stole this pic from Monica's blog cause she was the one who remembered her camera. We get asked if we are sisters... can you see why!?!

Brothers

Aiden is such a good big brother! He has nothing but love, kisses and soft pats for Zack. He is giving me a run for my money, but is always perfect with Zack. I love these boys!
